成大講座名單出爐 醫學系病理學科蘇益仁教授雀屏中選

(中央社訊息服務20100126 14:36:43)國立成功大學講座名單出爐,醫學院醫學系病理學科教授兼成大醫學院附設醫院研究副院長及國家衛生研究院感染症研究組特聘研究員蘇益仁教授,在血液病理學、癌症生物學、腫瘤病毒學等等領域的傑出表現有卓越成就,雀屏中選,榮獲「講座」。將由成大校長賴明詔院士在校務會議親自頒獎表揚。除獲得「成功大學講座」之終身榮譽,亦可獲頒獎助金每年新台幣八十萬元,獎助三年。

蘇益仁教授是EB病毒與NK/T細胞淋巴癌研究領域的開創及主要研究學者,研究成果卓著,相關論文發表在Lancet Blood, Journal of Clinical Investigation等一流雜誌,主要論文之一獲引用達450次以上,另有五篇論文被引用達100次以上。1997年起獲提名為國際淋巴癌研究小組25位國際血液病理委員,負責淋巴癌的分類及研究,學術聲望享譽國際。

EB病毒與NK/T細胞淋巴癌研究中,蘇益仁教授發現EBV病毒與台灣特殊的T細胞淋巴癌有關,並進一步發現小兒噬血症候群為EB病毒感染T細胞引發細胞激素風暴所致。蘇教授進一步釐清EB病毒的LMP-1蛋白經由NFKB信息路徑,引起T細胞腫瘤壞死因子的調控機制,並以PPAR活性劑成功地治療小兒噬血症候群病人,是世界上此一領域的領先及權威研究人員。蘇教授在此一領域的傑出研究獲推薦為國際淋巴癌研究小組委員,負責淋巴癌的分類及研究。

蘇益仁教授畢業於臺大醫學系,取得臺大醫學院病理學碩、博士。考取教育部公費留美基礎醫學科(1981年),曾任美國西雅圖華盛頓大學血液病理研究員(1982-1983)、美國哈佛大學Beth Israel Hospital客座助教授(1987-1988)、英國伯明罕大學癌症研究部研究員(1992-19935月)、瑞典斯德哥爾摩卡洛琳斯卡學院(MTC)訪問學者(19988-9月)、台大醫學院病理學科教授(2000-2002)兼主任等職務。

蘇益仁教授獲獎無數,曾獲國科會傑出研究獎(199019951997)、越南胡志明獎章-胡志明市榮譽市民、衛生署一等衛生獎章、台南一中第六屆校友傑出成就獎、賴和醫療服務獎、全國十大傑出青年(醫學研究類)、中華民國癌症醫學會徐千田傑出研究獎、行政院新聞局圖書出版金鼎獎(淋巴瘤的病因、診斷與治療,1993)、臺灣醫學會杜聰明博士優秀論文獎、美國國立衛生總署(NIH) Fogarty國際獎學金得獎赴美哈佛大學研究、等等。

蘇益仁教授亦積極參與各項社會及學術服務工作,諸如擔任國際淋巴瘤研究小組代表(International Lymphoma Study Group – REAL / WHO Classification of Malignant Lymphoma1997~2007)、國際EBV及相關疾病學會理事、中華民國病理學會理事長、國家衛生研究院院外處業務諮議委員會召集人、TCOG淋巴瘤研究小組召集人、台灣醫界聯盟祕書長(1992創會-1993)、副會長、國際期刊編輯委員(Cancer Science; International Epstein-Barr Virus Report; International Journal of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology; Japanese Journal of Hematopathology)、科學月刊編輯委員、醫望雜誌HOPE創辦人等。

為提升學術水準及師資陣容,國立成功大學於86年校務會議通過「成功大學講座設置要點」,由校務基金自籌款預算編列。「成功大學講座」須由成大專任教授擔任,除部訂教授薪給外,另核發獎助金每年八十萬元作為教學研究經費,獎助三年。講座為終身榮譽職。

獲選為「成功大學講座」殊屬不易,依成功大學講座設置要點,講座須曾獲中央研究院院士或國外院士、總統科學獎、教育部國家講座或學術獎、財團法人傑出人才發展基金會傑出人才講座、國科會特約研究人員或傑出研究獎三次(含)、連續三次獲本校特聘教授並曾獲國科會傑出研究獎、以及曾獲國際著名學術獎或在學術上有卓越貢獻才能擔任,獲得此榮譽之教授皆在學術上有卓越貢獻者。
